British Journal of Photography British Journal of Photography Photography

With a founding date of 1854, BJP is the world’s oldest and longest running photography magazine. But age has not caused it to stagnate—as they say, it's ‘not your usual game of picture karaoke.’ This edition, themed Resist, explores ‘how photography aids resistance—and when it becomes part of the problem.’ Inside, Sakir Khader documents suffering in the West Bank; Wolfgang Tillmans previews his new exhibition on knowledge at the Centre Pompidou; 50 years of Linder's punk photomontages at the Hayward Gallery; and Hélène Amouzou’s self-portraits while applying for asylum in Belgium.  Plus, a supplement on the reverse-side explores solidarity and kinship across Eastern Europe, based on a group show from image-makers in Poland and Hungary.
