Patinapatina Art & Design

Hailing from Toronto ‘but looking outward to diasporas around the world’, Patinapatina contains stories on art, identity and culture by local diasporic artists.  Open-bound with a heavy board cover, issue one takes up residence in the ‘in-between’, responding to the concept of a shared cultural patina. Its mission: ‘preserving and recontextualizing ancestral knowledge, practices, and stories’ and bringing them forward into a present communal space. Combining creative, personal writing and interviews with rich photography and colourful graphics, disciplines span art, film, dance, performance, photography and sculpture.  patinapatina.site
